Composer Trond Bjerknæs is Norway's nominee for the music for Max Manus - a big budget production about a resistance fighter in Oslo during the Second World War. The film is Norway's Oscar nominee. Trond Bjerknæs is a renowned Norwegian composer who learned to play the piano at the age of five and began composing the following year. After upper secondary school and playing in a number of jazz and rock bands he attended Berkley College of Music in Boston. His first film assignment was the feature film Hamilton. Today Trond works all over Scandinavia as film and TV composer. He is a member of the European Film Academy.
