Wealthy Lala still lives with her parents and has a passionate affair with Guayi, their young, hot Paraguayan maid. They steal money from Lala's family in order to run away to Paraguay, but things don't turn out the way they intend. Secrets come out inte the open and Lala and Guayi are drawn into a violent chain of events dominated by sex, betrayal, hatred and death. The whole thing is spiced up with folklore, fantasies and dreams and elevated by a very poetic and beautiful cinematography. Lucía Puenzo's (XXY, GIFF 2008) second feature is an Argentine take on Mulholland Drive, whose young actor duo of Inés Efron and Mariela Vitale are just as charismatic as Naomi Watts and Laura Harring.
