New Record

The 32nd edition of The Göteborg International Film Festival broke a new record. In total of 124 500 tickets were sold for 700 screenings of 450 films from 65 different countries. 31 000 member ship cards were sold. This means that the festival manifests its strong position, and once again increases both ticket and membership sales.

EU-meeting Culture and Creativity

Göteborg International Film Festival Fund participated in the EU-meeting Culture and Creativity - vectors for development. During the meeting a historic document was ratified. - The Brussels Declaration by artists and cultural professionals and entrepreneurs is a document that puts culture in focus when it comes to the development of ACP-countries.

New name, same CEO

Åsa Larsson, CEO of Göteborg International Film Festival, has married and at the same time changed her last name to Bernlo. We congratulate her and remind those who aim to e-mail her to use the principle: name.surname@filmfestival.org

Top Class Animation

One of this year's most talked-about films - the Israeli Waltz with Bashir - will get its Swedish premiere during the 32nd festival. On top of that legendary American animator Bill Plympton will visit with his new feature film Idiots and Angels and a retrospective with 14 shorts. We also screen Chicago 10, like Waltz with Bashir, an animated documentary. Chicago 10 is directed by American Brett Morgen.
